DataFlow is a browser extension that helps users extract structured data from web pages. This privacy policy explains how the Extension handles user data.

Key Point: All data processing happens locally in your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers.

Information We DO NOT Collect

We are committed to your privacy. DataFlow does NOT collect:

  • Personal information (names, emails, identifiers)
  • Browsing history or visited URLs
  • Cookies or tracking data
  • Any data transmitted to external servers
  • Analytics or usage tracking

Data Processed Locally

The following data is processed entirely within your browser:

  • Page Content: When using Smart Pick, the extension analyzes DOM structure to detect list patterns
  • Extracted Data: Data you extract is stored temporarily in browser local storage until exported or cleared
  • User Preferences: Language settings and preferences stored locally via Chrome's storage API

Permissions Explained

DataFlow requires certain permissions to function:

activeTab Access current tab content when Smart Pick is activated
sidePanel Display the extension's user interface
storage Save preferences locally
scripting Enable list detection on web pages
host_permissions Allow extension to work on any website you choose

Data Export

When you export data:

  • CSV Export: Downloaded directly to your computer
  • Excel Export: Downloaded directly to your computer

No data passes through any server during export. All processing is done locally.

Third-Party Services

DataFlow does NOT integrate with or send data to any third-party services. All functionality is self-contained within the browser extension.

Data Security

Since all data remains on your device:

  • No risk of data breaches from our servers (we have none)
  • Your extracted data never leaves your browser
  • You have complete control over your data

Children's Privacy

DataFlow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Clear all extension data by removing the extension
  • View stored data through Chrome's developer tools
  • Full control over what data you extract and export

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
